Dr. Amy Hair is a neonatologist specializing in care for infants born at the edge of viability, born at term or earlier with congenital defects, or infants with other conditions that need specialized intensive care. She currently works at Texas Children's Hospital where she is the Program Director of Neonatal Nutrition and Program Director of NICU Intestinal Rehabilitation Team. She also is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Neonatology at Baylor College of Medicine.
Her research focus is on neonatal nutrition, specifically evaluating how the smallest premature babies grow during their hospital stay. Her work includes how to improve outcomes with an exclusive human milk-based diet, understanding the role human milk fortifiers play in outcomes, how fortifier and cream can improve fat delivery for healthy growth, and more.
